Begin with the people who will live there
We approach residential architecture and interiors through a close reading of how a household lives. Shared spaces, privacy, entertaining, storage and daily routines are part of the brief. So are the things that cannot be reduced to a room list: an attachment to a material, an existing collection or a desire to stay connected to a garden. These give a home its own starting point.
Architecture and interiors in conversation
The quality of a room depends on what lies beyond it as well as what is inside it. We consider proportions, transitions, daylight and the relationship between built space and its surroundings. For a new house, those questions can begin at the architectural scale. Within an existing home, the work responds to the structure and constraints already there. The commission determines which interventions are appropriate.
Luxury through considered decisions
We value the way materials are selected, combined and finished. A convincing interior depends on proportion and assembly as much as the individual cost of its surfaces. Furniture, lighting and crafted elements are considered in relation to the space, with attention to the small corners that make a home feel resolved. Choices about maintenance and everyday wear belong in the design conversation too.
Continuity from the first idea
The design is developed through drawings, material decisions and detail. Coordination with consultants, makers and the site team is agreed as part of the scope. We aim to retain the character of the original idea as the project moves towards completion, while making room for the practical decisions that a real building demands.
A home in Chattarpur
The private residence in our approved archive offers one example of a home conceived around its relationship with nature. Its published project record credits I’m d’sign for the architecture, with Deepak Kalra as principal architect and Shifaa, Aarushi and Dhruva Kalra on the design team. It is a particular response to its setting, not a template for the next household.
Tell us what home means to you
Send a short note about the site or property, the people it will accommodate and what you hope to change or create. We can then discuss whether the brief calls for architectural design, interiors or a coordinated scope across both.
